Inspired By Qur'an Montessori Prompts

In 2020, I felt a strong desire to understand the Qur’an on a deeper level. With my four year old at home, I realised it was the perfect opportunity to strengthen my own connection with Allah while nurturing a meaningful bond with my son. I began learning tafseer and gradually turned some lessons into hands-on activities that matched his interests and way of learning.

By the grace of Allah, this Ramadan marks our seventh year, in sha Allah. What began as a simple idea has blossomed into a tradition that my boys truly love and look forward to every year.

What is it?

A series of 20 Qur’an prompts for you and your child to explore together during Ramadan. These prompts can be approached through discussions, storytelling, crafting, hands-on activities, and more.

When is it?

Starting from the 1st of Ramadan.

Who is it for?

Parents and children of all ages. (Even if you don’t have children yet, you’re welcome to follow along and study the prompts at your own pace.)

What do we do?

The goal is to consciously connect with your child and with Allah’s words in a way that suits your child’s learning style. For example:
  • A toddler who loves words: Recite together and focus on a key word in the ayah to expand vocabulary and practise phonics.
  • A preschooler who loves play dough: Create a play dough activity inspired by the ayah.
  • A 7-year-old visual learner: Have them make a poster to explain the ayah.

What if I'm not creative?

No worries at all! Inspired by Qur’an is designed to be simple and flexible. You don’t need to be an artist, a teacher, or a craft expert, just a willingness to explore and connect. Once you join our email list, I’ll send you a helpful email series with topics and activities to kick-start your planning and brainstorming

Can I join if I can’t commit to all 20 prompts?

Absolutely! Choose the prompts you can commit to and keep things simple. If this year’s prompts feel too advanced, you can use prompts from previous years instead.

Why only 20 prompts and not 30?

Mothers often don’t get to worship as much as they’d like during Ramadan. I reserve the last 10 days for myself and encourage you to do the same.
