DIY Super Easy Terrarium September 04 2018, 0 Comments

Terrariums are one of my favourite DIY’s because they’re so EASY to make and require little maintenance! They make perfect gifts!!

Materials:

  • Activated Charcoal for filtration
  • Potting Soil for succulents
  • Pebbles for drainage
  • Sand, Moss & Shells to decorate (optional)
  • Succulents
  • Glass Vase/Bowl/Jar etc

How to:

    1. Fill the base of vase with charcoal.

  2. Place pebbles around the edge of vase.

   3. Fill vase half way with soil.

4. {Optional}  If you want to add some colour   and texture, add a layer of sand in between the soil.

Then top it off with soil.

5. Plant your succulents. Decorate with moss pebbles and shells. I would have loved some moss, but unfortunately I couldn’t find fresh ones from our garden!

Tips:

  • Succulents are low maintenance plants so don’t overwater them. Spray the lightly so the soil is wet to touch {but not soaked}.
  • Bright light is best! Try to avoid direct sunlight for longer periods of time.
  • I ended up adding some fresh moss which I got from the rainforest. It makes the terrarium look so much brighter!

Would love to see your terrariums, please do share them with us!
